Roboseum

Overview:

 

Roboseum is a 2D, 4v1 arena game featuring asymmetric multiplayer and crossplay between a tablet and a PC.  Four players on PC control four characters within a trap filled arena.  These players are able to pick up bombs that spawn throughout the arena and may pass them to each other or throw them at a massive robot at the top of the arena.  The robot is piloted by a 5th player playing on a mobile device.  This player chooses from a range of abilities and plays minigames in order to have the robot activate those abilities.  The abilities are set by building the robot before the match starts using a preset number of parts.

 

Role: Technical Design and Implementation/Level Design/Art and Animation/Project Managment/Gameplay Design and Balance

Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with team to design core mechanics and draft code tests for implementation

  • Create tile-able environmental art assets

  • Create and animate traps, characters and bombs

  • Create sprite sheets and particle systems for player feedback

  • Implement core mechanics

  • Implement audio, art and animations

  • Design and implement an arena

  • Design and balance gameplay concepts

  • Create and maintain a Game Design Document and Media Design Document

  • Generate task lists and ensure project milestones are reached on time
